How to run multiple Slack accounts on a Mac

One isolated Slack per company or client — each in its own window, login and notifications.

Slack lets you add several workspaces inside one app, but they share a single window and account — and that breaks down when you juggle genuinely separate logins for different clients or companies. Parallel Spaces runs a separate, isolated Slack for each one, in its own window with its own storage. Here's how to set up multiple Slack accounts on your Mac.

Step by step

  1. Install and open Parallel Spaces — free on the Mac App Store.
  2. Create a Slack space — pick the Slack app to make an isolated instance for one company or client.
  3. Name and badge it — name it after the company, with a colour and badge for the Dock.
  4. Launch and sign in — open the space, sign into that workspace, and repeat for each client.

Why freelancers and agencies use this

  • No cross-posting. Each client's Slack is its own app — impossible to message the wrong workspace.
  • Separate logins, not shared workspaces. Works even when clients use different accounts.
  • Per-client notifications and badges. See at a glance who's pinging you.
  • One space per client. Add as many as you manage.

Frequently asked

Can I run multiple Slack accounts at once on Mac?

Yes — Parallel Spaces runs a separate, isolated Slack per company or client, each in its own window with its own login.

Why not just add workspaces inside Slack?

That works for workspaces on the same account. For separate client logins, Parallel Spaces keeps each fully isolated with its own storage, icon and notifications.

Is it free?

Yes — free on the Mac App Store, no VM, no subscription.
